Australia’s most-watched films this year reflects a list grounded in stories that continue to do heavy lifting in the classroom. Character-driven favourites like 10 Things I Hate About You and Legally Blonde sit alongside enduring analytical touchstones such as The Truman Show and Sunset Boulevard, while visually inventive texts like Coraline and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse open up rich discussions around form and meaning. Hunt for the Wilderpeople adds a local voice and classics like Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Cars, and Despicable Me 4 remain as firm favourites.

Across primary classrooms, learning balanced the practical and the imaginative, with everyday life skills explored through the Australian favourite Bluey and early historical understanding developed through the First Fleet. Other popular topics allowed for hands-on learning about telling time, the solar system, and life cycles.
