What is LTI?

Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) is a technology standard that lets learning systems like Moodle link to external educational resources without requiring students to sign in separately. ClickView supports both LTI v1.1 and v1.3; this guide focuses on setting up LTI 1.3 integration with Moodle.

Create the LTI 1.3 platform

  1. Sign in to ClickView with an admin account.
  2. Click your name at the top right and choose ‘Settings’.

  3. Under ‘Integrations’, select ‘LTI platforms’.

  4. If you cannot see the LTI option, contact Product Support.
  5. Select ‘+ Add platform’.

  6. Name your LTI platform, select ‘Version 1.3’, and click ‘Create’.

  7. Record the integration fields shown for Step 1:
    Login URI, Redirection URI, Deep Linking Launch URI, Public Key, and Public JWK.

Configure LTI 1.3 in Moodle

  1. Go to Moodle Site Administration > Plugins > Manage Tools.
  2. Click ‘Configure a tool manually’.
  3. Select ‘LTI 1.3’ from the LTI version dropdown and ‘RSA’ for Public key type.
  4. Map each integration field from ClickView into Moodle:
    • Redirection URI → Tool URL
    • Public Key → Public Key
    • Login URI → Initiate login URL
    • Redirection URI → Redirection URI
  5. Click ‘Show More’.
  6. Check ‘Content-Item Message’:
    • Deep linking launch URL → Content Selection URL
  7. Click ‘Save Changes’.
  8. Click ‘View configuration details’ for your new tool and get the required identifiers:

Complete LTI setup in ClickView

  1. Return to the LTI setup page in ClickView and fill Step 2 using info from Moodle:
    • ClientId → Client ID
    • Platform ID → Issuer
    • Access Token URL → Access Token URL
    • Authentication Request URL → Authorize URL
    • Public Keyset URL → JWK Set URL
    • Deployment Id → Deployment Id


  2. Click ‘Save changes’.

Add ClickView content to your Moodle course

  1. Go to any course in Moodle.
  2. Click the cog icon at the top left.
  3. Turn editing on.
  4. Add an activity or resource.
  5. Choose ‘External Tool’.
  6. Name your activity or resource.
  7. Select your ClickView tool from the dropdown.
  8. Click ‘Select Content’.
  9. Choose your ClickView video and click ‘Add’.
  10. The video will now appear in your Moodle course.
