Quick tip
In ClickView, what types of metadata issues are best to suggest an edit for?
Suggest edits for clear factual fixes—like typos, incorrect titles, missing episode numbers, or outdated descriptions—rather than preference-based changes.

What is video metadata?

Video metadata is the set of details attached to a video that helps people understand what it is about and find it more easily in search results. In ClickView, metadata includes information displayed with the video, such as title and description, and may include additional fields used for filtering and discoverability.

Before you start

Use Suggest an Edit when:

  • The video is sourced from the ClickView libraries, and you have identified incorrect or missing information (for example, a title error or outdated description).
  • You are a ClickView Administrator and can access Library Editor.

Do not use Suggest an Edit when:

  • The video was uploaded to your school or district library via Library Editor and you have permission to edit it (Administrators can edit these directly in Library Editor).
  • The video was uploaded to My Videos and you are the user who uploaded it (you can edit it directly in My Videos).

If you need to directly update metadata for a video uploaded via Library Editor (school/district library) or a video you uploaded to My Videos, follow How to edit video metadata.

Suggesting metadata changes
