Center for Coastal Studies
The Center for Coastal Studies conducts research with an emphasis on marine mammals of the western North Atlantic and the coastal and marine habitats and resources of the Gulf of Maine. It provides educational resources and programs that encourage the responsible use and conservation of coastal and marine ecosystems, and collaborates with other institutions and individuals to advance its work.
The Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) is an independent, non-profit, member-supported organization based in Provincetown, dedicated to understanding, preserving and protecting marine ecosystems and the coastal environment through applied research, education and public policy initiatives. In 1976, Dr Graham Giese, Dr Charles Stormy Mayo and Dr Barbara Shuler Mayo launched what today is an internationally acclaimed marine research, education and rescue organization.
