Booki Vivat (Author)
Booki Vivat is an author-illustrator who makes books for kids, blending her lifelong love of doodling and storytelling into every project. Growing up, she loved books, and she enjoys visiting schools and libraries to talk with young readers about what it's like to be an author-illustrator.
Booki Vivat was born and raised in California and graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Her family is originally from Thailand, though she is personally very bad at eating spicy food. She spent her childhood doodling and writing stories for fun. Before becoming an author-illustrator, she taught middle school English abroad, fell off a ladder during a very brief stint as a bookseller, and worked in children's publishing in New York City. She now lives in Oakland, California.
