Cadells Ltd is the company behind The Sooty Show, the official home of Sooty, Sweep and Soo. On 19 July 1948 Sooty was discovered by Harry Corbett in a joke shop on Blackpool North Pier, and in 1952 Sooty and Harry appeared on TV for the first time as part of the BBC's Talent Night. Shortly after, the BBC gave Sooty his own series. The show later moved to ITV, and in 1998 Matthew Corbett retired, leaving the gang in the hands of Richard Cadell. In 2008 Richard Cadell purchased the rights to The Sooty Show and produced 52 brand new episodes for CITV. In 2016 the show entered the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-running children's TV programme in the world. Cadells continues to present Sooty on television, live on stage, and through digital content.
