Brianna DuMont (Author)
Brianna DuMont rewrites history for middle graders in her laugh-out-loud Changed History series. Her award-winning series has been featured in the Scholastic Book Club, chosen as an Illinois Reads pick, and honored by the Junior Library Guild Selection Committee. She is the author of fabulously funny middle grade books and offers classroom visits.
Brianna DuMont earned her degree in classical archaeology, with a side of Classics and Animal Science, before deciding that digging in the dirt was not for her. She wanted to write about history for kids and relive it every day, and now travels the world in search of great museums and historical sites to visit. In 2017, she teamed up with National Geographic Kids to write the latest Weird but True Know-it-All: U.S. Presidents. At home in her adopted city of Chicago, she is a full-time writer and quickly becoming best friends with her local librarians. For her, history is most fun when it's getting made fun of, so her nonfiction series are all about laughing, because what's history without a little perspective?
