Virginia War Memorial
The Virginia War Memorial provides hands-on programs for children, educational resources and professional development for teachers, lectures and seminars for adults, collections and archives, arts programs for veterans, patriotic ceremonies, historical exhibits, documentary films, and oral histories, preserving and sharing the firsthand experiences of those who served and their families on the homefront.
The Virginia War Memorial is the Commonwealth of Virginia's premier monument, museum, and educational center dedicated to Virginians who served to defend the United States from World War II through today. Since 1956, it has stood on the banks of the James River in Richmond as the nation's leading state War Memorial, honoring Virginia's fallen and preserving the past.
