Seamlessly organise and share video resources
Liz Wyman, Head of Resources and Guidance at Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group, helps staff navigate, integrate and use ClickView’s extensive content collection to its full potential.
"Everybody can now watch things in college or at home on any device. We know our students don’t particularly like sitting at computers. They’d rather be on a phone or tablet, so they can quickly log into the app and use it."

Supporting staff to find great resources is now easier than ever
In the past, Liz spent a significant portion of her resource budget on DVDs to enhance learning across various subjects at Newcastle and Stafford Colleges. These DVDs often went missing, got scratched, or ended up unused on someone’s shelf. Now, with ClickView, sharing high-quality content with staff has become much easier. Liz frequently receives requests for films to support English Language or English Literature classes. With her subscription, she can usually access the required video resources through ClickView’s Exchange or the BBC RES archive online service. This not only saves money but also removes limitations on sharing.
ClickView integrates seamlessly with Moodle, which staff are already familiar with. “It’s just another plugin for them. It’s really, really easy to show them how to do it.” By uploading a video link through Moodle, any clip or film shown in class becomes accessible to students who were absent or need to review the material. Once uploaded, the content sits alongside all other student resources, keeping everything in one place for easy access.

The extensive ClickView collection helps staff and students save time when searching for high-quality teaching resources. Pre-created interactive videos with embedded questions are particularly useful for time-poor staff. According to Liz, once staff see the benefits of ClickView, they quickly become advocates within the college. Specific teams have embraced the platform fully.
“Our catering staff are the ones who’ve really embraced it,” Liz says. The coursework in catering is very skills-based, and much of the previously recorded content is now outdated. “Our computers don’t even have DVD players in them anymore.” Access to the wide variety of content on ClickView has been transformative. Students can even watch clips on the ClickView smartphone app in the kitchen to guide them as they work.

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group has used ClickView for many years, and staff have seen continuous improvements as the platform has become fully online. Liz highlights several advantages compared to other platforms: no adverts, no continuous autoplay, curriculum alignment, and content designed with specific year levels in mind. Supplementary resources included with the videos further support student engagement and help boost educational outcomes.
