This month brings a fresh lineup of new content for schools in England and Scotland, with something to suit every classroom. From equipping secondary students with effective exam preparation strategies in the new Study Skills for Exams series to taking primary learners on a journey through Earth’s history with our new Fossils series, there’s plenty to explore across the platform this June!

This series helps students understand the different techniques they can use when studying for different subjects, as well as a range of memorisation strategies to support them when preparing for exams. Using a muted, cutout design with colourful backgrounds, the series aims to make exam preparation feel more lighthearted and approachable while helping students build confidence in their study routines.

For June’s Movies + TV highlights, we have curated a range of new, factual programs plus fun series for primary learners as part of our educational catalogue.
More pertinent than ever, the documentary The Great Disconnect (England) (Scotland) explores the causes of widespread social isolation in modern-day culture. This film explores the paradox of living in a time of mass connectivity at the same time as a loneliness epidemic. Tamer Soliman sets out to find out the reasons behind this troubling development, speaking to leading experts, local people, and activists across America.
In this animated comedy series based on the picture book by Julia Donaldson, children dive into the world of Zog the dragon (England) (Scotland), Doctor Princess Pearl, and Sir Gadabout the Great. The series has been praised for its strong characterisation and well-crafted storytelling, as young learners can easily resonate with the theme of friendship.
Tiny Tunes (England) (Scotland) is a clever and new series that uses songs and animation for education. In these short episodes, classic nursery rhymes are reimagined for both deaf and hearing children. Set against the backdrop of nature, this series is a must watch for primary students.
In the BBC documentary series Natalie Cassidy: Caring Together (England) (Scotland), viewers learn about the importance of social care. The series follows former EastEnders actress Cassidy as a student carer as she confronts the challenges and joys of care work. This series has enormous value for students of all types, as it reflects the breadth of skills necessary in many fields.
