What’s New in September 2026: Classroom Videos and Resources

There’s plenty new on ClickView this September for schools in England and Scotland, with something for every classroom. For September’s Movies + TV highlights, we have curated a range of factual and fun series as part of our educational catalogue. 

Mir Hussein’s acclaimed documentary 25 Years in Afghanistan (England)(Scotland) is a wrenching exploration of family, geopolitics and the ramifications of militarisation. The film is relevant to a plethora of subject areas, inviting the audience to reflect on the complexities and contradictions involved in being a citizen of Afghanistan today.

This Emmy-nominated film In the Footsteps of Marco Polo (England)(Scotland) follows filmmakers Denis Belliveau and Francis O’Donnell as they explore Marco Polo’s Silk Road. Students are immersed in an engaging journey from Venice to China, encountering history through compelling narration and scenery.

In the new TV documentary The Great Plague: The Village That Saved Britain, (England)(Scotland) historian Ruth Goodman elaborates on the story of Derbyshire’s village of Eyam. She explains the decision to quarantine the village from the bubonic plague, which ultimately saved thousands of lives within Britain.

In Richard E. Grant’s Very Modern Odyssey, (England)(Scotland) students encounter the classic text of The Odyssey through a meandering travelogue from Malta to Ithaca. This miniseries is a fresh pick for history students, as Grant contextualises the mythological meanings of the text within the modernity of the places that he visits.
