For April’s Movies +TV highlights, we’ve selected globally popular and critically acclaimed films for a vibrant and educational content offering.

By far the most popular movie addition in April, The Super Mario Bros. Movie (England) (Scotland) brings students’ favourite Nintendo characters to life in an energetic adventure. Bursting with neon colours, laugh-out-loud funny moments and an action-packed quest for brothers Mario and Luigi, the film is a guaranteed movie treat for students of all ages.

Themes of war, propaganda and ethics are explored in the Oscar winning documentary Mr Nobody Against Putin (England) (Scotland). Broadcast on Storyville, the documentaryfollows a Russian teacher who courageously leaks video footage showing the militarisation of the primary school he teaches at. Filmed over the course of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the film takes the everyday setting of a classroom and chronicles its transformation into a product of war.

From New Day Films, UNSTUCK: An OCD Kids Movie (England) (Scotland) gives children who struggle with OCD a voice. The film follows six kids who bravely share what life is like living in their mind, their fears, obsessions and rituals that they’re striving to overcome. This film is a moving and powerful portrait of resilience, understanding and truly educates viewers on what OCD is.

Ben Fogle embarks on another incredible journey of curiosity in the popular series China with Ben Fogle (England) (Scotland). In the series, Fogle is on a quest to unveil and understand the real China. Starting his journey on The Great Wall, Fogle delves into the 3000-year-old tale of one of history’s greatest empires by learning about its ancient customs, great wonders, traditions and beliefs.
