Oxford University Press

Transforming textbooks into 1,000+ curriculum-aligned videos

ClickView has partnered with Oxford University Press (OUP) Australia & New Zealand on one of the largest educational video production collaborations in the company's history. The multi-year co-production and content licensing partnership spans Mathematics, Humanities & Social Sciences (HASS), and Science, converting OUP's secondary curriculum textbook content into engaging, curriculum-aligned video resources for Years 7–10 students and teachers.

What ClickView delivered

  • Original co-production A five-year programme converting OUP textbook content into short-form instructional videos, on track to exceed 1,150 curriculum-aligned videos across Mathematics, HASS and Science.
  • Client coordination A true co-production model with OUP contributing curriculum expertise, textbook content, authors and subject specialists, and script review and educational quality assurance, alongside ClickView's instructional design and production teams.
  • Complex production management A dedicated review workflow to support hundreds of concurrent productions and reviews, with subject-specific production approaches: worked examples and graphical demonstrations for Mathematics, illustrations and animations for Science, and archival footage, maps and visual storytelling for HASS.
  • Multi-curriculum localisation Content adapted across the Australian, Victorian and NSW curricula, plus New Zealand curriculum adaptations and localisation.
  • Distribution Dual distribution through Oxford Digital, embedded directly within OUP's digital learning resources and textbooks, and through the ClickView platform, extending reach to schools that may not use the associated OUP textbook.

The Process

What began as a pilot of 100 Year 7 Mathematics videos and 50 Year 7 HASS videos expanded into a full Years 7–10 programme across Mathematics, HASS and Science, including Victorian, NSW and New Zealand curriculum variations. Together, OUP and ClickView built a repeatable, scalable production pipeline and a shared review workflow capable of handling hundreds of concurrent curriculum topics: the kind of deep, long-term co-production capability that shows a prospective partner ClickView can convert institutional subject-matter expertise into classroom-ready video at scale.

Results

The programme is on track to deliver more than 1,150 curriculum-aligned videos – 550 in Humanities & Social Sciences, 350 in Mathematics and 250 in Science – over its five-year run, reaching Years 7–10 students and teachers across Australia and New Zealand through both Oxford Digital and the ClickView platform. OUP has described the collaboration as the most ambitious video project it has ever undertaken, underscoring ClickView's role as a strategic co-production partner capable of transforming large-scale curriculum content into engaging, multi-curriculum video resources.
