Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum houses almost 50 aircraft flown by Canadians and the Canadian military from the beginning of World War II to the present, alongside an extensive aviation gift shop and exhibit gallery. Displays, flight demonstrations, and special events instruct, educate, and entertain the public, with exhibits maintained in tribute to the thousands of men and women who built, serviced, and flew these aircraft.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum was founded in 1972, growing from the friendship of Dennis Bradley and Alan Ness and their desire to maintain and preserve Canada's aviation history. Its first aircraft, a Fairey Firefly, was test-flown on 4 June 1972, and the group moved into a hangar at Hamilton Airport that year. Its mandate is to acquire, document, preserve and maintain a complete collection of aircraft flown by Canadians and the Canadian military services, including related aviation artifacts and memorabilia. Now located at Mount Hope, Ontario, the Museum houses over forty aircraft.
