Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) is the not-for-profit caretaker of 2,100+ acres of land and ecosystems surrounded by Canada's largest urban environment, spanning Hamilton and Burlington, Ontario. It is an educator and experience creator delivering cultural, artistic, and culinary experiences throughout its diverse network of gardens and natural spaces. Formally created through an Act of the Province of Ontario on April 1, 1941, RBG has for over eight decades connected people to the plant world to awaken them to plants' beauty, diversity, and necessity, and to preserve plant species and habitats. It is Canada's largest botanical garden and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
